well i finished up my DIY injector install this afternoon. i tore the truck apart after work on thursday, rebuilt the injectors after work friday, and put it all back together in an afternoon saturday.
way easier than i originally thought... if you can rebuild a carb you can do this no problem. took me about 2 hours to do the first injector and figure out what was going on. by the third injector i had lost the instructions and was breezin along just fine.
wow, i am very happy with the new power! it just gets up and goes! i can lay a nice thick cloud of smoke down now too which will come in handy for those tailgaters!
on to the next project... clutch. then probably intercooler.

Word to your mother Its so much more effective then the horn or finger ever will be. Congrats on the install. You know what they say, "Smoke 'em if ya got 'em"
The air horn dogs get attention good to. The coal clouds just stink and they're sticky thick like and they just linger in the air for awhile. its great! Thats why I said stacks suck cause they put the coal above the cars. Gotta have it close to the road to ensure a good cloud can be made for those close enough to recit the numbers back to ya from your tabs. Gotta love them Sunday go to meetin drivers
could you compare the power gain to chipping a stock truck or is the power gain more then putting in a chip? i finnaly saved up enough money for these injectors. what would be the best supporting mod for injectors?
ohh and fish what other mods do you have done to your truck?
ohhh and smoke a dodge for me will yea?

Dude, how much were you suprised by the power? I told you didn't I???
lol, ya ya.... one somewhat minor setback. like i said, least i didnt crack the block or anything. yes everytime i hit the go pedal the power amazes me! heck i've already tripped the CEL a couple of times around town from redlight to redlight
YES you told me! thanks for all your help, i was very nervous there at first cranking on it but everything seemed to have gone fine. one thing that bothered me though it didnt seem like my truck idled rough at all! i thought it was supposed to! i cranked it over a few times with the GP's pulled to flush any fluid out. then i put them back in and sealed up my VC's. then without pluggin in the VC harnesses i cranked it over 30-40 seconds a few times allwoing about 20 minutes between each crank. then i plugged the VC harnesses in and cranked it over several times (i started to get nervous, lol) and then it cranked like normal and ran like normal! i hope thats not a bad thing!

i have been running a chipped truck now for probably 2 years now and the power justa chip gives is very noticeable! it was painful the couple of times i had to pull the chip and drive it around. but after doing the injectors it was the same thing all over again. thr power gain is VERY noticable/impressive. i gotta send my chip back to tony and get all new programs burned.
does anyone know if he is doing the 6-pos chips anymore? last i talked to him he said that they werent. any particular reason why? all he told me was there were some problems with them!
well i'd say the 3 supporting mods you need to do sometime before or after injectors would be clutch, intercooler, and HPOP. a different turbo couldnt hurt as i hit 35lbs EASY now (whoops, lol) but i dont think it is a necessity.
the only mods i have done to my engine is intake, exhaust (straight pipe, no kitty, 3-4" DP), chip, injectors. i have a clutch sittin in my room i will be puttin in the next couple of weekends and then i am going to start my research on doing intercoolers
i smoked an entire group of bicyclists... does that count they were waving their fists and gave me the bird!
i dont know i still have not fixed right and jim at diy is on vaca till the 5th so i am in the dark till then but i am glad to hear yours went well congrats
Not to change the topic here, but I would like a little more indepth description on how difficult it is to do this because I would soooo like to do it, but I have only rebuilt one carberator and I'm still trying to figure out if I did everything right. With that being said let me know a little more about the job. I'm all the way out here in Gemany and tools can be scarce, and it usually takes two to three weeks to get one or a new part, so I plan everything very well or I'm out of a truck for some time. Thanks for the guidence
thanx for the congrats wolf... didnt mean to rub it in your face or anything. i'm sorry yours hasnt gone so well. what are the symptoms, just out of curiosity.
what i suggest to you, casey, is find a good set of injectors and rebuild them. that way if something goes wrong you have your stock set to fall back to. i HIGHLY doubt anything will go wrong in the rebuild process as long as you take your time. either that or purchase a set from BDP or Swamps already done! in your situation, thats what i would do! you could do that in an afternoon!
all you are basically doing is completely pulling each injector apart, remove all old seals, remove stock intensifier pistons, install new pistons, install new seals, and put it all back together. everything HAS to be CLEAN! i have the DIY CD but i dunno if jim would get upset with me for posting some of his pics or not so we'll have to see if he cares. i can also scan and post the instructions but again, gotta check with jim first.

i went pre-machined and it was really nice! i didnt have to tear every injector apart first and then have the truck down for a day. plus i honeslty dont trust any machine shops around here.
