I'm just curious as to why ford designed the E4OD to have soft car like shifts? These trannys are in trucks and I would think they would have higher line pressures? I remember my 94 4R70W as having decent firm shifts. It's also interesting that on the E4OD and 4R100's at least to what I have noticed is the Torque Converter engagement at the same time as a shift. Any how Thanks for the replys.

Oh ya Sub ford Just curious were you are finding these cool electriacal diagrams. We have ALL data at the Diesel shop but I havent been able to find anything as extensive as yours.

Just a FYI My buddy at work has a 2000 F-250 Diesel and we researched the tcc wire on his and it still is a pink with yellow tracer according to all data.

The electrical diagram in post #7 is from the 1992 Electrical & Vacuum Trouble-Shooting Manual.

The diagrams & charts in post #11 are from this URL:
9497faq/maint/vra/vra06111.htm#vra06techart

But they copied it from the 1994 Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis OBD I manual.
1994 PCED OBDI Section 6A: EEC-IV Pinpoint Test Procedures, TE--Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor Index, INTRODUCTION.

You can get your own Electrical & Vacuum Trouble-Shooting Manual OR Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis OBD I manual from:
HELM INC

But you should be able to find it up on the fender in plug C103.

Pin 53 is Brown/yellow on mine, 93 F-150 351 W E4OD 4x4. I'll cut it and see. The other wire I cut I had too splice back.

The above diagrams were from the 1993 Ford F series Manual.

The wire color in the above posting is wrong.

It should have read "circuit #480, a Purple wire with a Yellow stripe".

Sorry about that, I saw P/Y and miss-read it.
Pink would have been PK/Y.

No problem, Just got back in from test run and that is it. Thanks for your research. Might burn a little more gas that way but pulls better and will just flip the switch back on for normal driving. That was a good learning experience. I cant imagine repinning for MAF conversion.

So let me get something straight here... A switch on this wire disables the TC from disengaging when you let off the throttle so it rides the gear down like a manual transmission would? The transmission can still shift gears right?
