We don't always know why - we didn't all do this because we were aware of world situations. Many of us just needed a way OUT!
But we did, and we qualified...
We learned a lot, and IT WAS A LOT DIFFERENT from how we lived before...
For some of us it just did not work, and so they left. It isn't easy
The rest of us were changed forever... I for one don't regret it.
You can be burned by the law, and burned by the military first of all, and left with nothing at all if you screw up.
WE CHANCED IT.
I can say I retired from it, so I guess I didn't mess up too bad. I have gold chevrons, so in theory I did it right, or at least I didn't get caught - SO I DID IT RIGHT!!!!
Out there are more of our own learning every bit of it.
I'm glad I am not them anymore, but I miss what they are doing...
A "Dicotomy"...
Split in half, knowing well, unable to share it.
Lives not only on the line, but left behind...
There are families back there, we cherish them as our lifelines to reality...
And they are WHY we do what we do - WITH EVERYTHING WE'VE GOT!
Because freedom matters.
It isn't just being able to walk to a convenience store - it's about your family being SAFE.
The rest is gravy...
GOD BLESS ALL OF OUR VETERANS, ACTIVE DUTY, AND RESERVISTS on this memorial day - PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE...
FREEDOMISNOT FREE

Amen Bro, I think sometimes people sometimes fire off from emotion at times instead of looking with their eyes to see what happens. The problem is that they forget what it's taken from generation after generation of American Soldier. They forget the reasons we have Freedom, and they forget the reason that we as Americans in the greatest Nation on the planet are able to voice our emotions without reprisal.
God Bless Everyone and God Bless America, may you all have a safe Memorial Day weekend.
