My truck F150 1991 has the EECIV computer, I want make a lot of changes since I'm going to built a totally new and strong engine, but I don't have any experience on computers.
Someone told me the computer used on 1996 trucks can be flashed and totally reprogramed...
The ECM change would be nice if you plan on a lot of mods. Ford makes a mass air conversion kit, and there are a few aftermarket PCMs. If your just changing cam and heads with a few other bolt-ons, you could try a chip or even better, get a dyno tune. There is a way to mod the EEC-IV PCM to be able to reflash it, I think it is a slight hardware change and swapping the stock prom for an eeprom.
