my 02 will only start if the block heater is pluged up for a few hours... then it will not start running rite until it gets hot.it skips/ shakes/ and will not acellerate. then it runs like nothing is wrong when it is good and warmed up it starts fine when hot/. here are the 13 different codes that were read p0221/266/272/275/281/230/380/541/640/1247/1662/1670/1690/ any ideals as to where i should start trying to fix my problem??
Wow......There are like five injector fault codes there. The low boost codes are probably a result of them. Then there's the glow plugs and the EBV faults........it kinda sounds like something may have chewed up the wiring harness on top of the motor.
yes/ it may be i plan on tomorrow to remove the valve cover and see what i can find . i was going to replace the glow plugs but they checked out ok on the test
i am assumeing that i have al these codes because of the one main problem i have it has to be setting all of the others . i guess i will know more tomorrow when i pull the valve covers . like i say it will not start unless i have the block heater pluged up for a while / it starts but runs real rough and will not accerlate until it gets hot i have to drive it for about 5 mins. after that it seems to run strong. very confusing to me .
I was just thinking about a common denominator between all of those but cant come up with just 1 except for chaffing in the main engine bay harness or an actual PCM issue.
Try checking, and I mean unplugging and looking at the PCM connector and the IDM harness. Pull them off, if OK, reconnect. May have a bad connection and get lucky. From there move to others until you hopefully find something because right now you have a shotgun blast of codes with no common denominator as previously mentioned.

it tryed that no luck i am gona try tomorrow to get a idm and replace it and hope for the best

i swapped out both the idm and pcm with some test ones from a freind.. it still will not start up unless the engine has some heat in it . any other ideals that i can try??
Did you ohm out the under valve cover harness or just visually inspect it. The 4 cylinder codes are probably going to be the reason for the no cold start but they could be anywhere from electrical to compression.
