Please help me if you can. I recently aquirred a 1963 SWB style side F100. It has a transplant 351W out of a 78 Encoline. I am still trying to ID the 3 speed Manual. I think it came out of a 68 mustang.
The Nms are left side... C8AR 7006-B
Right side... RAN D1 K116532
Here are the questions:
1)What do the nums mean?
2)My speedo dont work and it appears the gear inside the tranny is wore off. where do I find one of those and how hard is it to replace?
3)Is there a 4 or 5 speed that will bolt up with no changes to the drive line, clutch, ect?
You're probably not going to find a 4 or 5 speed that doessn't take at least some modification. You might get away with using same clutch and/or tranny mount but almost guarantee you're going to have to have a driveshaft made.

Count the number of teeth on the speedo gear, I'll give you the part number.
The speedo driven gear (the one on the end of the speedo cable)is a 16 tooth left twist.NPD has it as part num 17271-19A. I have a new one of those. I cant see the gear inside of the tranny well enought to count the teeth without pulling the tail shaft and I am not sure how involved that is. When I shined a light inside the opening, the gear appears to have the teeth wore down...
The gear at the end of the speedo cable is the driven gear, the one in the trans is the drive gear. I don't need you to count the teeth, since I already know what the trans is from...and you have a 16 tooth drive gear. gimme a minute to look up the part number.
Is the speedo accurate? If not, do you know the rear end ratio? There's no use giving you the part number if the speedo was off. I can figure within 2-3 MPH what combo you need, all I need is the ratio. Don't know it? Look on the VIN plate inside the glove box door...see where it says AXLE? Post that code here
Nothing on the glove box door except the recommended engin oils. The vin plate is on the drivers door and the Axel code is 11 and the Trans code is A.
I am not sure if the speedo is close. I bought this truck about a month ago and the speedo has never worked.
The VIN plate is usually on the glove box door on a 1963. Check the VIN on the door plate with what's on your registration...that door may be off another truck.
I do know the rear end is a 9" by looking at it.
Right now there are 31X10.5X15 on the truck but I am thinking of repacing them with the standard 235 75 15
