I think they both stopped making them once the 3V V10 replaced the 2V. Lack of interest? Probably. High gas prices & low V10 numbers sold in the fleet is more likely the reason. There certainly is interest.

Nobody makes a SC for the 3V.

I've yet to see someone with a turbo'd V10.

I checked out Paxton and Vortec. They both only do the two valve motors. Nice numbers out of them though

V-10 turbo

STS makes a remote mount turbo. Sounds like a prety good add on, this is an alt. to the supercharger. Just a thought maybe someone out there has had experience with one of these.

Not so, what do you think diesels use?

I was on the phone with Paxton and Vortech, (sister companies) You don't get max boost until you hit max engine rpms. You get partial power at 3 grand. Not good enough for me. STS is the best way to go. You get variable pressures as conditions demand, and get a free ride......no parasitic loss of power.

You can actually get good mileage with a proper turbo setup, the turbo needs to be sized big enough where it won't spool up until you get on it, even on the freeway. Personally I don't have any need for a turbo V10 gasser. Propane however, now you're talking......

POPS _91710, You might get away with towing with turbo with water injection. diesels are more stable than gas with high intake temps. I've seen very impresive numbers out of the old 460 motor with paxton blower.

Your point is well taken, and I haven't totally ruled out the Paxton or the Vortech as yet. Especially after I have gotten some inside information on STS.

In October of 2004 Super Chevy magazine ran an article on this very installation. The vehicle was (of course) a Chevy Camaro. The writer of the article was Dakota Wentz, a good friend of my son, who also is an associate editor for Super Chevy Magazine and their main photographer. (Look for articles and photos by Mike Harrington, jr. (my son).

Often magazines rush these articles to print to beat a deadline, and then there is no follow-up. So, to satisfy my own curiosity, I called my son to inform him I liked the STS idea, and could he tell me more about it?

Well, he tells me that no sooner was the ink dry, and the article was published, STS's install went south, and the Camaro went lame. Dakota made several calls to STS to try to get the problem corrected. All to no avail. The install was a flop! Now maybe this condition could have been corrected if he had only gotten a little help from STS. But they didn't seem to be interested.

The system was demounted, and the Camaro was put back to stock.

So, I was warned to stay away from them. It burst my bubble! Maye my son can pull a rabbet out of the hat for me later this year when they have PRI's with Vortech and other SEMA members. He got me a great deal on the Gear Vendor I am using now.

I would think a Paxton install would rock. You'd pick up a lot of low end torque (not that you'd need it).

There are kits for the Mustang 4.6, I wonder how much of that can be used for the 6.8 (or even the 5.4)?

I still think for a gasser on a towing appl. that a supercharger would have the advantage over the turbo. And cost should be less for a supercharger.

Turbo is great for hotrodding, But for towing I don't know if you can keep the intake temps low enough. Great cost effective project if you knew it would work out.

For a gasser towing and hauling around a heavy truck a supercharger is best.

Maybe a turbo would work ok if your always running 3,500+rpm.

A turbo will make good boost lower that that. When I first installed A turbo on my sand rail, I was suprised at how low it starts to pull. The only problem I see is heat. look at the diesel, A low RPM motor using A turbo.

You could run a set of sequential turbo setup. A smaller turbo on one side to run 1000rpms to 2200rpms and a larger one on the other side to run 2200rpms to 3500rpms or higher. That way you can cover the whole power ban of the motor. I have a 3000GT VR-4 and it's set up that way and it pulls strong from 1100 rpms to 6100 rpms. The same kind of set up but a large setup will work, but the cost will be up there. The Vortech setup would be best and you can change the the blower units from V-2 to V-3 or V-1 to your needs.

A diesel and a gasser are very different.

The last time I checked a turbo diesel has turbo lag.

Id like to see a v-10 turboed. I love the whistle of a turbo, and love the high rev of a v-10. I wonder what a tubroed v10 would sound like?
