Stubborn Brake Lights

I seem to be having a problem with some brake lights. When I park the truck, sometimes the brake lights will stay on. Fortunately it hasn't drained the battery because I caught it in time, usually I can turn them off by pumping the brake pedal. But what could be causing this to happen? Any help would be appreciated.

You don't say what year truck but I will assume it is the 79 in your gallery.
Bad switch, bad return spring, or corroded and seized brake pedal bushings.

Actually its a truck from my late grandfather's estate that I'm just trying to get working right before my dad takes acquisition of it. I sold the 79 in the gallery 3 years ago.

There is a switch at the brake pedal that is not working and may need adjustment.
