i dunno whats goin on here guys.......i REALLY would like to get rid of this truck ASAP but i dont wanna just dump it for like $2K to get it out of here...i think my asking price is fair.....i have had about 35 people call me about the truck because its for sale locally but they never call back....i dunno whats goin on....besides price of gas do you guys think my price is way too high to sell?
here is the link to the truck so you guys can check it out...
Most people do not have $3900 cash and window show. The plow bit probably scares a couple and having a flatbed is not a plus. If you sold this right before winter you could do better.
With gas getting to $4 a gallon, just not the time to sell.
I would also have to say that the fuel prices are driving people not to buy your truck. The truck sounds great, but it's a work truck and people are just shyed away from dropping the 3900 that you want. Price seems fair for what it's worth, but unless someone really needs a work truck, you will have a hard time selling it.
1. You're looking at a limited market--it's a work truck, not a daily driver that anyone can go to their desk job in. It's even more limited by being a flatbed plow truck (less versatile as a work truck and a plow = abuse in most people's minds).
2. Gas prices are high, so trucks are expensive to run.
3. It's old.
4. People looking at 15-20 year old trucks don't have $3900 sitting around. If someone did have that cash sitting around, they'd put it down on a $39000 new truck that a dealer can't sell right now since that market tanked.
5. Banks don't like to loan out that little on vehicles that old. If the engine blows tomorrow, it's worth next to nothing, then the bank has no collateral.
Your best hope is probably to find a farmer with a long driveway right after harvest.
sorry to say it cuzz it looks like a truck id have and work but around my neck of the woods it'd bring 1500 tops. nowadays everyone wants new and shinney with big payments just so the guy next door is full of envy. not me tho every things paid for here but the house
If I had the cash I would buy that truck in a second. I could really use a good all around farm truck, but I'm poor lol. Hold out a while, someone will come along. Maybe try advertising it more towards farmers or something.
I had the same thing - put my 79 F250 up for a few weeks at a reasonable price - not a single nibble. I ended up deciding to keep it, take the insurance off (I got a new truck), and some day when I have time I'll really dress it up all new as a hobby. There appears to be no market for them right now.
it just sucks because i have to wait on this truck to sell before ill have enough money to go and get what i want......and its hard because i absolutely cannont afford to keep feeding this truck as a DD.....
Ken hit the nail on the head....honestly...theres nicer lookin trucks up for sale for a lot less....to sell it you'd need to drop your price closer to the 2k range on the high end...probably like $1,700 or so to move it quick.

You never get out of it what you put into them. In my area you can get same vintage with diesels for less than that. If it were me I'd advertise at $2,250 and when some one offers 2K, grab it and run.
I had the same problem selling a Jeep J-10 I had. Everyone that was interested in it wanted me to give it to them. I put it on EBAY and got what I was asking for it. EBAY gets you coverage that is Nation wide and more. I had priced my truck locally for $1800.00 when I put it on EBAY I put it at a $2000.00 buy now and a guy from PA emailed me about he made me an offer of $1800.00 buy now and I took it. The best offer I got locally was $900.00
