Are the fuel and temp gauges acting weird? Do the needles of those two gauges appear to have a mind of their own, by moving up and down at will?
If so, you may have a faulty CVR = Constant Voltage Regulator. This device regulates the proper amount of electricity to the gauges. The CVR plugs into the back of the gauge cluster on the printed circuit. Take care when removing it, so you don't damage the printed circuit.
The CVR is available from Ford and auto parts stores.

If all the gauges are messed up, the ignition switch may not be at fault. The wiring, and corrosion of the terminals could also be the problem.
