Hey does anyone know if there is a company that makes extended radius arms for the 73-79 F-150 4wds? I already know that bronco graveyard does but im no to pleased with the way they are constructed. Im lookin for something about a foot longer and a lil heavier built.
Yeah i am. The only deal is $$$. Im trying to do this right but on a limited budget. And in my yard. the bad thing about this is that i live in WV. Its not bad here but noone wants to do anything with trucks. Everyone here is very narrow minded and when i say anythin about a 4wd conversion i get told its impossible and if the factory didnt do it then its not ment to be done . I hate that fact. So like out in cali and places like that they have alot of fab shops and the such. Here i dont so im pretty much stuck with the info i can get here and the skills i have.
Try Auoto Fab in southern California. They make your radius arms, complete suspension kits and have some pretty cool fiberglass front fenders with larger wheel wheel openings for better tire clearance.
i have been looking at the extended radius arms from bronco grave yard and was wondering what it is that you dont like about the construction?? i dont want to buy some and they be weak or somthing.
I jsut dont care much for how they look mostly. In im thinkin Petersons $ wheeler mag they did an install on a 78-9 bronco and i wasnt really impressed. It did seem to work well but i want something a little bit different.
Dave - John at Autofab is a good guy and really knows his stuff. He has been donig these trucks for years. Much of the stuff they do is NOT on the website - as the website hasn't changed much in 5 years or so. Call them and see what they say.
Also - if you just want to have a set extended say - 12" or so - then look up some of the fab shops on the websites I gave you. Many of the guys will do this for a good price.
Let me know before you choose a shop and I'll let you know their reputation as far as quality out here.
Well i just sent an email to auto fab to see what all they have. Right about 1/2 mile from where i work is a place called Rocket Chassis. They build alot of the dirt track car frames. This guys kid is the 1 thats makin all the fuss in outlaw cars right now. I cant remeber what his first name is but his last name is Richards. Im going to stop by sometime soon and see if they can help me.
The artical in Ford Muscle That talks about TMI's 400 rebuild in the truck called Anticipation also shows pics of extended arms. It is in a 335 engine post just yesterday. Check it out.
