Cool Help!!! I need a radiator.

Some one stole the radiator for 1972 F250 highboy. I had it out while I was replacing the steering gear box. When I was putting everything back together I found that my radiator was gone. Mine had the rear mounting flange. I need to get this done before the end of the month and unfortunately have no funds to buy one before the 2nd of June.

Bummer! That's a shooting offense but it's hard to catch those jerks at it.

I don't have a spare, sori.

Bad thing is I have only 2 suspects, my druggie brother-in-law and my landlord. The brother-in-law is self explanatory, the landlord would have done it out of spite. No proof either way. The real tragedy is that that was an original all copper radiator. That make me lean to the druggie brother-in-law considering what copper is bringing now days.

ManOman those two suspects are the worst -- ya' can't kill the druggie inlaw unless your wife is disgusted with him too. The landlord cuz he controls the rent and environs. Damn!

Can you search around the in-laws house/shed or would he already have sold the rad by now?

My wife had a huge argument with him about 2 weeks ago and told him not to come to our house anymore. If he took it, it would be at the scrap yard by now as well.

Theft is a personal violation of space...prolly why most states allow us to shoot those dirtbags.

I know those old radiators are expensive and hard to find -- had to core and solder my 4-row they were so much. I heard no money, but already do a Google for it or Craigs list maybe to get an idea of replacement cost? Retailers are about $350...

EDit: Leave it to ND to get the right info quick.

And empathetic chit-chat awaiting someone with a Free radiator to speak up.

Ford doesn't list the number of rows, just the dimensions. But from personal experience, none of those I listed are 4 rows. The core width is too narrow. 2 inches will work for a 3 row, because the middle row is staggered.

Maybe someone installed a 73/79 super cooling radiator in your truck. These are far larger than the super cooling radiators of 1967/72.

LARGEST Ford radiator made 1973/79 and used on: 360/390/400/460: D3TZ-8005-G ~ H: 24 11/16" / W: 26 1/4" / Core thickness: 2 5/8" / This radiator required a different radiator support. So if your truck had one, someone widened the support, or a portion of it was behind the support, and not getting any air.

Did your truck have a fan shroud? They are marked with a molded in engineering number on the left side upper corner. If the number begins with: D3 or D4, that's a 73/79 shroud. List all the numbers if you have a shroud...I can match it to the radiator it was used with.

I'll see what 73/79 core thicknesses are...brb
maybe it was only a 3 row core. It may have been special ordered as this was a high altitude rig until I bought it. I bought it from the original owner in Colorado and it was used for towing.

I have a shroud, but it is missing the upper left corner and there are not any numbers on it any where else. The inside dimentions are 26 1/4" by 19 1/4". My core support is 3 3/4" deep. It looks like I Had this radiator: C9TZ-8005-D .. EXTRA cooling / Width: 26 1/4" / Height: 19 3/4" / Core thickness: 2"

Measure the height and width of the shroud you have.
