Dead 02 sensors
So, my buddy calls me and asks if I can come over and check out his Check Engine light with my AutoEnginuity. I hook it up, it was running lean on both banks. I clear the code, run the Key On Eninge On tests and it set the codes again. Looking at the O2 sensor graphs-no output at all from all 4 02 sensors. Anybody seen all 4 O2 take a dump at the same time?

I had a navigator the other day..not wanting to idle and running like junk. All 4 O2 sensors were reading .02 volts or less. The main vacuum supply for the PCV (rubber elbow at top of intake) was rotted away causing a HUGE vacuum leak. I fixed it up and ran it a few minutes and the O2's all came back to life. Advised customer that it may need O2 sensors and/or IAC down the road, but they were working at this time. It had several codes set... all four O2 sensors had set codes, also Bank1/Bank2 lean and idle management.
Moral of the story? Check for vacuum leaks before condemning the O2 sensors.
