You ultimately get cooler intake air charge which means more power. Spearco is the way I'd go if I had the coin. Great cooling and very little psi lost across the core. Uses stock piping and the fit is great. There are really lots of things you can do before you have to change the stock intercooler for more power, if that's what you're looking for. I would also recommend a good set of gauges before you make any power mod's. That way you'll have a baseline to start with incase any changes you make are "bad".

Superdude,

Last week I installed the Banks Techni-cooler. I really like it. Looked at the Spearco, but decided on the Banks instead.

I am sure the post is easy to find.

Anyway, I did not notice a HUGE difference until yesterday. I had a Tournament and towed my Bass boat to the Lake. I know a Bass boat is not a 9000# TT, but that is when I really felt the effect of the Cooler.

If ya got money buring a hole in your pocket, it is a great mod. Not sure where you live but Texas summers are hot, and I think it will give me a good benefit.

Otherwise, I would get a tuner. You WILL feel a huge diff from that.

Take Care

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!

This could not be any further from the truth. You will regret going All Banks and especially there programmer (ie Chip/inline fuel device).

Sorry this has been beat to death around here and proven time and time again. The Banks and any chip/inline fuel device will damage your engine and transmission.

Banks is overrated, overpriced and underperforming. Banks are marketing legends in their own mind.

Please do a search and read the posted data.

As "npccpartsman" said an A/M intercooler will lower your intake air temp charge which will lower EGT, which is helpful if you tow alot. That being said it will not help you "smoke" other trucks unless you do other mods first.

I have posted a list several times lately on mods, here is a start.

Guages (EGT, Boost, Trans Temp minimum)
Cross Over Fuel line kit
Cat back or Turbo Back exhaust (MBRP)
SCT XcalII with custom tunes from Matt at LIPD www.lidiesel.com
Fluidampr
Coolant Filter (www.dieselsite.com)

Please note that Turbo back exhaust can void your warranty depending on our dealers views. A Tuner is generally grounds for FMC voiding your warranty.

The Gauages, Cross Over Fuel line kit, Exhaust, SCT XcalII, Fluidampr can all be purchased from Matt at LIPD.

Matt also sells Spearco intercoolers, call and talk to him about your needs and wants. He will be more than happy to talk with you and answer your questions. Also he can advise you on wether or not you want to upgrade your intercooler.

He is the leading 6.0 performance guru and if you want to go to full race mods or anywhere in between he can get you there.

I guess we'll let it fly seeing as how you didn't refer to it as the "Cummings" motor as so many here do.
