I did the 4in exhaust today. It took longer to take the old off then install the new 4 inch. I'm wondering how you put 12in tip on with it not sticking out to far. I don't want sticking to far. I like the doulble wall slant tip but I dont wan't it to stick out past the fender, its almost like that they should be shorter.
Truck sounds sounds great. Late 99 7.3.
I hope you are talking about 12" long and not wide.
That would be too corny IMO.
I would simply trim the length to fit as needed.
Get a new hacksaw and some oil, apply the oil to the area that you need to cut and take nice slow strokes. Don't push down on the saw or it will sieze.
You'll be surprised at how quickly it cuts the pipe off.
Don't push down on the saw, let it ride under it's own weight!!!!
Hack saw????? Pssh, those are caveman tools Kwik, lol. Sawzall baby! Hand tools are babies toys, lol.
Cowboy Steve
Don't have a sawzall. Besides they reciprocate so fast that the blade gets dulled within seconds.
Most of the hacksaw's tiresome reputation comes from improper use of the blade.
If you have a hacksaw laying around, try it sometime. Use some oil and take slow easy strokes with a new sharp blade. It will walk through that pipe like butter.
Any ways I laid a good ole patch in front of the house.
Nice, Around my neighborhood you can always tell when somone has done a new mod to their car/truck. Usually by them doing some test driving by the house or while driving by their house and seeing of 5,000 miles of treadware donated to the road surface.
Many of the OEM parts of my spine have been altered, destroyed or removed (should say replaced with aftermarket)so have to find easier ways to do things

just last week I used wd-40 to lube a jigsaw blade when cutting holes out of diamond plate for a gauge pod on my boat. the blade before the lube lasted about 6 inches the 2nd blade after lube has cut 5 holes and has done some small trim work.
