well i have an evolution on my 03 F150 we have a few issues that can hopefully be fixed in a custom tune but i need input. I have an aftermarket Cold air intake
A) the throttle response is slower then stock (seems like its gasping for air but theres no fuel there) on WOT accel.
B)when i run it in OD it shifts very hard 1st to 2nd to the point it "slams" in gear and sounds bad under hard accel. but i turned overdrive off and it was WAY smoother and yet very firm and crisp
C) my quarter miles times are within hundreths, and sometimes slower then stock? what are you guys getting? i ran a 17flat i think (it was awhile back) which was more or less the same as stock
this is all done on the towing tune because it felt the same as level 3 did.
I'd suggest starting with cleaning the MAF and IAC. It shouldn't hesitate with the tune, so either the IAC is letting too much air in or the MAF is not metering all of the air passing through it.
I don't know what's up with your shifting, try backing down the line pressure.
Weather, track condition and several other factors make the 0.0xx range. The 2v 5.4 is not a great performer, plus you in a fairly heavy truck. Try my first suggestions and see if your times improve.
