That may be it. The PCV valve is new. Someone squashed on gaskets on the valve covers...I can see it plain as day. Where are the valve cover ports?

There is a port on the top of each cover. One has the PCV valve in it connected to the base of the carb and the other has a hose to the air filter assy.

Ohh, those ports. Yes, I have both present and accounted for. Passenger side goes to the breather element in the air cleaner assembly, the other in a PCV going to the carburetor. Both were replaced recently.
