A 1953 Ford truck used as a daily driver? Is it possible? Yes. A long time friend has driven the same 1954 F100 for 26 years daily...in Los Angeles traffic, no less. His truck has a 223 with stick and overdrive. The truck is totally original except for the circa 1959 repaint and the Dennis Carpenter oak bed wood. And...dare I say it...it's rust free!

My frame-off resto'ed '53 will be a daily driver within the next 2 weeks. It's an awesome truck, built to last the first time by Ford and the second time by me. It lasted 54 years and 125K miles before the first rebuild, and even if I have to re-do a full resto every 10 years it's still cheaper than buying a new vehicle. Even has a receiver hitch to pull stuff around with. Me and 'Mater will eat trailer queens for breakfast...
