I can't technically call it a daily driver because I have two vehicles to exercise but I do drive the truck the most. There's no reason you can't. Just remember that you're driving an older, outdated vehicle and you'll be fine. Leave plenty of room to stop, when cornering, remember that it doesn't handle as well, etc. If it's modified, then it may not even be outdated and then there is especially no reason not to.
i havebeen usin mine for about 13 years now for all 4 seasons.352 2bl with an srod trans and 3.25 gears.i put about 400 + miles on it a week.mostly highway miles.
Well' I'm currently in between daily driver "Slick"; sold my last 66 F100 lwb; building a 64 F100 swb, hopefully up & running by September if not sooner! For now I drive my 76 highboy as my daily driver.
Mine has become my company truck so all of the repairs, and mods offer a tax advantage. I can go buy a new truck for my company, and spend 30-40 grand, or I can buy a few Slicks fix them up, and have a unique fleet for less money. It has been a great promotional item. I only drive about 3-4000 per year, and it also keeps the business insurance a lot cheaper too.
I have been driving mine every day since my Honda broke down 2 months ago...my gas mileage may have decreased, but my appeal to the ladies has multiplied exponentially!
I have drum brakes, the 240, and the 3 speed manual. I have no problems running up and down the interstate...now that I'm not scared to step on the peddle a little.
Mine is my daily driver....but it really hurts a bit at the pump here in Cali.
I have four words that come to mind....DRILL HERE....DRILL NOW.
