Get an OASIS done to find out what warranty work was done: esp. the SD. If your gettting a plow I would think the SD would be the better choice. As for a SMALL boat either should be fine, however if you choose to tow larger rigs the diesel is definatley the way to go; its what I did towed for about 4 years with gas half and 3/4 tons then finally got a diesel...day and night difference plus the milage is a lot better with the diesel.

Is the Super Duty a diesel?? If it's a diesel there would be no doubt for me.. I would go with the diesel SD.

I drove a 97 powerstroke for 10 years and 143k mi. and was sure I wanted to downsize just a bit to the f150. I'd been looking at the new or newer f150's online and I think they are a very nice looking truck. I didn't want to spend the extra money that a Super Duty costs plus the $5000 diesel option on a new one.
I got my finances in order and the time came to go and start test driving f150's.
I drove some very, very nice 150's all loaded out, but as I test drove these over the course of about 2 weeks,, I just never felt like the f150 had the right feel for me, like the ride, the road feel, the steering feedback, and while the 5.4 seemed to have OK power around town,,, when I would get on the Interstate and put it through it's paces it was very dissapointing for me to find that it really struggled to accelerate from say 55mph to 75mph in a passing situation. Even though I'd read articles online that praised its carlike ride and sufficient engine power for towing,,, my gut feeling was that I would not be happy with the f150 in the long run.... given the fact that I was used to towing with my 97 powerstroke. Then a salesman talked me into taking an 06 SuperDuty crewcab Powerstroke for a drive and took it on the same route I had just taken the 150 and .....that was it...... I had made my mind up right then that the 150 wasn't for me and that the stability and power of the diesel SuperDuty on the highway was what I wanted. With Ford heavily discounting the 07 SD's to make room for the 08's, I managed to close a deal on a new 07 SD CC Lariat 4x4 DIESEL and after another $4000 in Ford rebates I ended up paying the same price for the loaded SD as was the loaded out f150.

In your senario,,, if that SuperDuty Lariat is a diesel,,, you will never be sorry.
.
The diesel has lots of power... vs ... the 150 not much
The diesel will get 18mpg ...... vs ... the 150 will get 15mpg at best.
diesel is about $2.85 gal........ vs ... gasoline is about $3.39 gal.

Good Luck and let us know what you decided.. OK?

Well then I'd probably get the F-150 unless your serious about the plow. The F150 will not hold up well plowing. Or, I'd wait and shop around for a diesel Superduty. The other consideration is how you drive. If your just making alot of short trips the F150 gas would be better. Towing, hauling, long runs, plowing the diesels will be better.

what's the price difference?
what's the difference in payload...i know they claim the new f150's carry 3000 payload.
check to see what the same vehicles sell for that are a few years older...will you be better off trying to sell a 1/2 or 3/4 ton.
are they both configured the same...cab/bed/2/4 wheel drive.
