compatability question!!!
Hey guys! Hopefully someone can help me quit scratching my head.
I have a 2003 Ranger that currently has a Dual in-dash DVD player in it that I put in not too long ago. I'm already tired of it and now want to put just a stock 6 disc in-dash changer in. Here's my question - upon searching eBay for the unit I'd like, come to find out there's more than one type. I've found 2 that I would like to think will probably plug and play but I'm not 100% sure. There's a "Premium" model and an "Audiophile" model (per the owner's manual for an '03 Expy). The only notable difference I can see is the Audiophile has the DSP feature while the Premium does not. Does either one have to have a factory amp hooked up to work properly (or at all)? I'm just wanting to go back to a stock head unit because I want the stock look but I DON'T want the single CD like it came with; that thing is better off as a paper weight. Any help someone could provide would be GREAT!!!

I have heard audiophile units in the past have had bass issues in sound quality, because they rely on the sub woofer for base. I don't know which models or first hand if the info is true. You also have to pay attention to the mounting brackets. The mounting brackets need to be exactly as your radio. For example: a 05 F150 radio will not mount properly in my 05 350, but an 05 Focus radio will
