Hey guys! Hopefully someone can help me quit scratching my head.
I have a 2003 Ranger that currently has a Dual in-dash DVD player in it that I put in not too long ago. I'm already tired of it and now want to put just a stock 6 disc in-dash changer in. Here's my question - upon searching eBay for the unit I'd like, come to find out there's more than one type. I've found 2 that I would like to think will probably plug and play but I'm not 100% sure. There's a "Premium" model and an "Audiophile" model (per the owner's manual for an '03 Expy). The only notable difference I can see is the Audiophile has the DSP feature while the Premium does not. Does either one have to have a factory amp hooked up to work properly (or at all)? I'm just wanting to go back to a stock head unit because I want the stock look but I DON'T want the single CD like it came with; that thing is better off as a paper weight. Any help someone could provide would be GREAT!!!
I have heard audiophile units in the past have had bass issues in sound quality, because they rely on the sub woofer for base. I don't know which models or first hand if the info is true. For example: a 05 F150 radio will not mount properly in my 05 350, but an 05 Focus radio will
