I have found that my sons 92 7.2IDI needs injectors and have been searching the 'net for pricing etc. I see some sites that list pre 2-92 and post 3-92 some list turbo and non turbo with no referance to 2 or 3 of 92 and some say series E,F G etc and fit all years. The info from the sites conflicts so what is the scoop on injectiors? I see several places on Ebay list new Delphi for very reasonable prices as comapred to my local parts stores. Our injectors have a big "E" stamped on them somewhere near the wrench flats. Does that mean we have E series? Sprry for all the questions, only want to do once, LOL
The 93..... 7.3 should use E code injectors....... was the 92 a mistake like 7.2 was.
Check the engine timing gear (oil filler) cover decal.... if the 92.5 is punched out you have the Performance and Emissions engine like me...... the NON turbo IDI use a code E injector and a #5013 injection pump. You will also require an injector install kit/return line kit.........
Wow, sorry about the typos. Yea it is a 7.3 Door decal says truck was built 2/92. The timing tower decal has the 92.5 punched so I guess I need "E" injectors. Thanks for clearing that all up!!
Check the serial number of the block for giggles..... located by the tach sensor on the upper flat portion of the block... triangulated by the valley pan hold down, timing tower and the head.. flat area my need to clean it.......
Should see something like....... my 93 ... 7.3D U2 U1 073312*
For instance a 1992 Crew Cab, DRW, made in Canada, actual manufacture date 11/91.
The engine number is 7.3 U2U957053 there may or may not be a D behind 7.3
