Exclamation Hi

Hi everyone,

We have recieved some feedback regarding this forum... and as such the following things are going to be done.
I will the moderator in here
All X-Plan requests will be done in an exclusive X-Plan request thread - FTE cannot guarantee a response to it... but you have more chance of getting a response.
Fostering good discussion on advice to squeeze the last dollar out of your dealership on your next purchase - there are other (and prehaps better) ways to get that X-Plan price.
And the forum has had a name change... that way - it is advice for purchasing 2nd hand vehicles too.

Good changes- already I see a big improvement in responses and questions.

Let's see if we can't get this forum back to its "glory days..."

Jeff, this forum hasn't been the same since you and Polar Bear left your previous places of employment. I believe you both said your dealerships would keep your great deals going but it looks like that didn't happen. I haven't noticed any other dealers come on and take up the slack. Have you ever thought of getting back in to the Ford car sales business down in sunny southern Florida?

Well, I've never learned to rule out anything in my life, and I have to admit I've thought about it. The problems are: dealers want full-time, year-round salespeople, and I couldn't handle a Florida summer. Also, finding a dealer in Florida where I'd be comfortable working would be a real challenge. You know, one where I wouldn't feel like I had to take a shower every time I left the place. My winter place is in Clearwater, and I've heard nothing but horror stories about Ford dealers in that area. Also, things are going great at Lowe's (plenty of business, good people), so I really want to give that a shot and see where it leads.

But thanks for asking and remembering me. If I decide to plunge back into the car world, you'll be the first to know!

Tell Kitty you want to do some part-time internet sales. You know, just go in long enough to deliver the vehicles and be on your way On second thought, your life is probably a lot less stressful without it

Stress is a relative term, but when it came to FTE sales and deliveries, the stress factor was just about ZERO. Order a truck, deliver a truck, go out and have a good meal with good people and good spirits- what's stressful about that? I must admit, that was one of the better times in my life, and I do miss what we were doing at Van Bortel. You'll never hear me say a bad word about Kitty, but times and circumstances change, so one must move on. But damn, those were good times!

Keith, say "hi" to your Dad for me, okay? Macaroni Grille is STILL one of my favorite places to eat!
