i am considering buying an 89 bronco, but there are some things about it i am not sure about. 1st a previous owner replaced the trans/transfer case witha C6 and mid 70's? transfer case. can the transfer case on these be "clocked" differently, like an alternator can? becausenow the way the transfer case is installed, the front driveshaft would have to run between the trans crossmember and the body, than make an extremely sharp angle to the axle.if the case can be twisted down than the 4wd will be able to work. pleaselet me know if anyone knows this. the price is right for the truck, but i dont want it if it isnt 4wd.or if i cant make it 4wd cheaply.
thanks

You might be able to have a custom driveshaft built with a c/v joint at the transfer case. I think I'm understanding what you are saying. My opinion, I would leave it set right where its at. But thats just my opinion. Things that are mis-matched like this can really turn into a "large headache" and you would be kicking your self for a long time. Did the parts come from an old Bronco? Is the t-case a NP 205 or a 203? I'm not sure about inter-changeability becuase the newer Fords have the TTB front end. A newer Ford from 80 up with the C-6 and NP208 probably would have been a bolt in swap, driveshafts and all. The 302 went to the OD automatic in 85, the 351W in 89 or 90.
