4x4 conversion question about transfer case

I am converting my 2000 f350 7.3 6 speed 2wd to 4x4.i need to know if the transfer case from the 4x4 trans will bolt up to the 2wd trans.is it as simple as removing my tale housing and bolting case on or is the main shaft different lengths?i have a divorced case I can use but I would rather get a married case for factory appearance. any help would be greatly appreciated. also I will answer the ''well why don't you just buy a 4x4'' questions before they come pouring in.the truck is a 2000 7.3 6 speed dually 77k miles 1 owner (friend of mine) and is in great shape.i bought the truck and everything to convert it minus transfer case for 9K.a truck like this with 4x4 in my area sale for 18k-25k.

is it much easier to get the 4x4 trans than swap the shaft.
