I have a problem with rod that attaches to my power locks. I can't seem to find out how the rod attaches to the inside of the door. It keeps popping out of place and as you know theres not much room to reach in there. I also have a low rpm miss. I also could not find the postings talking about rusty oil pans. Nothing comes up when I search....thanks 92 F150 6 cylinder

I am not sure about the rod, but I believe I remember some guys on here talking about a clip that holds the rod in place that can be bought in the Help! section of the autoparts store. I believe they were using the clips that were made for carb linkages.
I also have a low rpm miss.
Is this a random shake or a steady thump thump type of miss?

I haven't heard of a rusty oil pan as being a common problem. If it's rusty, paint it. It's it's leaking, replace it.
I was suprised to learn that oil pans on these Fords rust out. I found postings about this some where....it was more than just a few people. Ford used a cheap paint and it peels and starts rusting from the outside in...go figure. There was discussions as to buy aftermarket or OEM as well as the best gasket set to buy.
My miss is more like a rouigh idle. It is hardly noticable but it causes the truck to buck a little. I have a manual transmission and it runs great at highway speeds. I cleaned the throttle body and tps. I will try some new vacum lines next..thanks
The power door lock actuating rod's special plastic clip resembles a carb clip, but a carb clip will not work. The end of the clip where it fits to the lock rod expands when attached. This is the weak point. When the clip is removed, it prolly won't attach properly again.
I don't have a parts catalog after 1991, otherwise I'd pass the part number along. You might contact FTE sponsor DIRECTFORDPARTS and order a couple. They give a discount to FTE members. The basic Ford part number is: 21970.

You didn't mention it, but don't forget the standard stuff too like sparkplugs, cap, rotor, and checking the sparkplug wires.
