Rust...?

Is this a common area for rust on these models? I have little surface rust spots on this part of my 98 Mountaineer and it has never been driven in salt. This is not mine, part it is a picture to show the area.

HOW DO YOU PUT A FLIPPING PICTURE ON HERE?

You need to put the picture on the web somewhere and link to it. You can put it in your gallery on this site, and there are helpers to get the code you need. Click on the USERCP option above and then select edit gallery. After that it's fairly self explanitory. As to the rust, I live in the South and haven't had any rust issues.

around the fuel filler is a common rust area.

at least say where your rust is if you do not know how to put in a picture.

I have no rust in any of the door seals;the truck has never been in any salt. I think it is being caused by dirt and other debris getting caught in the area and holding moisture, thus, causing little surface rust areas. The truck was in storage for 5 months in a garage and it is only driven on weekends when the weather is nice.
