My 88 f250 supercab, 4 wheel drive (HD suspension) broke the drivers side "seal/Inner spring backing"? in the hub (OEM) It was attached with a clip to the inner side of the gear that goes on the axle.(Had to take hub and spindle off to clean aluminum pieces out, and replaced outer wheel bearing due to galling). Is there a good set of replacement hubs for my truck, or is there somewhere I can get just that one replacement part? I just bought a set of Warn Premium's but the inner gear spline count is less than my front axle (plus the footnote on the box says "....will not fit early 1988 trucks...go to Ford dealer."
I'm guessing you have a Dana 50 instead of a Dana 44?
The note saying it won't fit early 88 trucks I beleive has to do with the fact Ford tried a. . ."Modern External Lockout Hub". . .or as many call them "Top Hats"
Trust me, if you see one you'll know why!
