I just purchased an 04 Screw FX4 with 27K on it and the power rear window does not work. After doing some looking on here I have determined that it is not the switch (due to the dome light slightly dimming when pushing the open button). This 04 was built in 04/04 so it is one month out of the 3 year warranty. Do you think that if I went to the Ford dealer and tried to get them to still cover it it would be worth a shot? ( oh and I bought this truck from a chevy dealer for 21k and they said they do not have the money in the truck to do the repair) I would assume that Ford is somewhat leaniant on the 3yr/36000 warranty?
doubt it will be covered. if you do a search on warranty repairs there is a number of people complaining that they were 7 days out of warranty and it was denied. Doesn't the warranty go from purchase date?

Is there anyway to find out the original purchase date? I assume the dealer could tell me but I like to know the answers to questions that I am going to ask them there... A way to keep them honest. :-)

Well the truck has an in service date of 7/31/04... so therefore it is still under warranty untill 7/31/07.... so therefore I have an appoitment at my local Ford dealer tomorrow morning.. Thanks for your help!
It's from the time of purchase and the Ford system will track it from time of purchase. You might want to go to my ford.com and see when the actual warranty started.
