Hey guys, after about 5 years I am almost ready for paint. My 66 SB was a solid green and I am thinking of going toi the green and whte with the chrome side strips, which mine never had. I have found that when Ford did thre two tone they did not break the paint line at the belt line of the truck. I appears to be about 2 inches above tyhe belt/seam line at the back and may be even with the bottom of the hood at the front. Does that sound right to you guys? I am going to try and find a factory two tone locally and try and get some measurements. I think that if you use the belt line as the paint break and then add the chrome strips, they won't line up right. Appreciate any input.
The base color actually is also on the hood sides; the hood is not all white as you'd expect. My truck is 2 toned factory correct. You can maybe see it in the photos on my web site. Dwight's Truck
I have been wondering about the factory paint layout as well. I am trying to find a 66 to restore. Can I have yours Dwight. It will save me some work. Nice truck by the way.
If you look at my gallery, my green and gray 4x4 did not have the crome on it, so I did what you are saying, took pictures a my sons red and white truck and had my painter tutone mine to match, but sense I had no crome he painted them on with brigth silver and add 10 coats of clear. You can not feel were the paints come togather.

You can have my '66 anytime. My truck is a '65.
Photos can be deceiving...you don't see the rotted out hood or the crusty rain gutters. Or the torn seat. Or the hemorrhaging intake gasket.
But yeah, it's pretty cool anyway.
