2004 F250 conversions

Hey

Im new to this site so i thought see if anyone could helpe me on some questions

1. Can a 2004 F250 XLT supercab longbed be converted into a Dually? (if so will there be any cutting?)
2. Will a 2006 F250 Front end fit onto a 2004 F250?
3. Will a 2005-2007 digital climate control work in a 2004 XLT?

Anything is possible with enough cash. Unfortunately, there aren't too many of us with enough cash.

Your first question is probably the more doable project. A replacement axle, springs, and bed replacement (w/the extended wheel wells) would be the biggest of your hurdles, in terms of parts.

The 2005 and newer Super Duties have coil springs in the front end. So, trying to transplant the front suspension from a 2006 into a 2004 would be an undertaking.

I have yet to hear any success story in getting the digital climate control to work in a vehicle not originally equipped with one. I remember one thread from probably close to a year ago wherein someone had gotten the control unit but was unsure what else he needed. There was a bit of discussion regarding the wiring requirements, need for the solenoids that open/close the damper doors, the possible need of the entire HVAC duct piece that sits behind the dash & glove box, etc. Aside from some discussions along these lines, I have not seen any type of a follow-up. So, I have no clue how far that did or did not go.

.
No i dont mean converting the whole front end to a 2006 model. what i ment was to just fit a 2006 grill and bumper onto a 2004.
and are you sure i will be needing a new axle and bed? i thought all i needed was to fit the flares and wheels?

yea you can change the grill and lights out. You will need a new rear axle because the drw axle is narrower. I'm not sure about the bed I thought that you could just add the fenders, but maybe not.

No, the DRW trucks have a heftier axle.

A DRW conversion of an SRW axle will not get you any more hauling or towing capacity (your axle will still limit the total weight you can support) but it will create a wider track in the rear and increase stability.

All you need to do is bolt on the Dually Conversion Adaptors and add the flares. heck you can do it to any vehicle no major mod required.

The only reason im asking these questoins is because Australia stop selling there F250's in 2004. and thay never shiped the Dually models. so what im looking at doing is turning a 2004 model into a 2007 model dully.

Do you just want the dually look or are you looking for increased hauling and towing capacity?

Just the look mainly but i do want it all to be genuine as in the same way as if it was fitted from factory. as in no after market fittings.

Then you will need the entire rear suspension and axle assembly, rim to rim.

Start looking for a wrecked F-350 DRW.

Not sure about the front end, can you just swap rims or does the F-350 DRW have a unique front axle?
