'04 Lightning is in near mint condition......KBB books between $23,000-$26,000.
Listed it for 1 day in 3 western cities and have a cash offer for $20K.
Told the prospective buyer we'd split the difference @ $22,000..he stayed at $20K.
Told him I'd let him know tomorrow by noon. I'm going to go to CAR MAX and get an offer........if it's $20K, I'll let the ad run for awhile. But I know they want to always rape you so I don't expect a very fair offer.
I love my dog too, but "I'm not selling my truck". If I owned it outright, I wouldn't sell it. They don't make them anymore and with the EPA breathing down their neck, they have discontinued the entire SVT line. JMO
With gas prices they way they are, I doubt it will bring book. Hell, no full sized pickup will bring book right now. You know what the BB is really used for: what the loan value % is. The BB has been 1000's of $$$ too high here on the West Coast for over 2 years. Between the 1000's of late model used trucks on the market, and the current giveaway deals on new trucks, getting book would be a miracle.
Saturday's San Gabriel Valley Tribune: new 2007 TUNDRA Double Cab SR5 = $7,500.00 off sticker; new 2007 Ford F150 CC XLT = $11,000.00 off sticker; 2007 Dodge Ram HEMI Quad Cab = $15,000.00 off sticker. All ads state: all in stock.
Your only recourse for book value, is if Mr. Right comes along looking for a Lightning.

Yup, you know I'll be kickin' myself 20 years from now!! (yes, title's in hand)
We hardly drive it anymore, and the dog's vet bill is up to $7,000 with chemo coming up, so the money would come in handy.
I'm just worried about selling it too cheap.
I know I'll probably seem like a freak for this, but if the money's needed to help save the dog, take the $20k. Me personally, I'd sell whatever I needed to (house, cars, blood, wife. . .) in order to pay for the best possible treatment.

Dude, if you're a freak; than I'm some kind of a mutant.
I will spare NOTHING to give my buddy the best chance to be pain free for the remainder of his life.
This picture nearly chokes me up everytime. The Pit and Mastiff would always wrestle like there was no tomorrow. Pure fun and NEVER anger. After surgery, the Pit kissed Lucky and was genuinely worried/sad.
Right now they have to lay together and Rufus the Pit is worried and very careful around his buddy!!!
The Lightning sale is a given either way.....just wondering if I hold out too long if I may lose a sale all together. The Carmax offer kind of puts a time frame to the whole situation.
Dogs are replaceable. Not to sound harsh, but it's going to die anyways. *shrug* Your Lightning is going to be worth more money in 10 years than the dog is.
I couldn't spend 7k on a dog, let alone surgery to keep a dog, but were all different. I'd sell something else besides the Lightning. Whatever you do, good luck
personally, i couldn't see myself shelling out $7k to keep my suffering dog alive. that's just my opinion though. i've said so myself, that if i'm suffering from cancer, i personally wouldn't wanna be alive as well. btw, i volunteer at a local humane society so don't think i'm not an animal lover
that being said, i'm sorry for you and your poor pup. i wish y'alls the best. if you need the money now, selling it for $20k isn't the worst thing at hand. if you don't really need the money now, i'd say hold off. there is someone who will ante up and purchase it for more. after all, it's not like you can go out and buy a new one damn fomoco... wait.. thats another topic...
so, i'm not voting 'cause i don't know you're financial situation. sounds like you wanna sell the L anyways though - gl...
