lift kit

I have a 05 f250 sd, crew, 4x4, v10 and I am concidering a 4"lift. My question is does the lift affect towing/ handleing? I tow a 30 ft camper and I really don't want to change how it handles. But like the looks of the lifted trucks.

is that 5th wheel? if it is you have to concider the hitch and stuff, if not then a drop hitch would be fine, i think only 4in you will be fine towing wise, whats that trailer weigh?

I don't think the Donahoe Racing 4.5 hanger kit effects towing at all. I would go with that one.

he has an 05, they have coils not leafs in the front you, cant use hanger drops, maybe coil spacer...(i am not up on coil springs)...but i think 4.5 would be too much for a spacer

Twodazeoff,

The DR 4.5" system will not affect towing capacity and will retain your stock overload springs. We have quite a few customers who tow on a regular basis with this system without issue.

Here is an example of a DR 4.5" system on 35s:

Marty, with the 4.5" DR and 35's on a '06 F-250, is that too tall to pull a 5th wheel or goose neck? I'm considering going with this setup in the next 12 months or so. Although I don't currently pull a 5th wheel or goose neck, I may have the need some day. I don't won't to make my truck worthless for what it is made to do.
Thanks

This system only lifts the rear 1.375" over that of a stock F350, but the tailgate height changes less due to it's pivoting around the rear axle when the front end is leveled. The bigger difference comes from the actual tires which in the case of 35s will result in roughly a 2" increase in ride height. I have many customers who pull 5th wheels and goosenecks with as much as 6" systems without issue.

Question:

Why can't you use the DR 4.5 kit on a truck with manual tranny. I saw that on their website. Thanks.

This is due to the design of the radius arm drop brackets which overlap the transmission crossmember. The crossmember on manual trucks is further back and the DR brackets do not have sufficient clearance to accommodate for this. Here is an example: (Note the second set of holes just behind the crossmember. These are for manual transmissons.

When I inquired about the DR kits awhile back(I also have a manual tranny on an 08)I think DCSpecial said they can substitute an adjustable radius arm drop bracket. Is this correct?I will be interested in a 4.5 DR kit down the road aways for my 08.I am also looking to replace rear springs instead of using higher blocks-this wasn't available for the 08's last I checked. My problem is locally noone even knows about DR-and will not install anything they don't sell themselves.

We have installed Fabtech radius arm brackets with DR systems on manual trucks in the past. This solves the clearance issue . We will have Rize 6" rear springs for '08 SD available next week. Let me know where you are located and I can try to find an installer in your area. Thanks

Thanks for the info. I'm not ready to lift mine yet, was just doing some pre-planning I guess. Thanks again.
