Edge performance...

I have a few questions in regards to the Edge products if someone could please help.

I have a 07 F-250 4x4 6.0 crew cab. I use the truck mainly for hauling my family around, camping, and hunting..(might get a pick-up bed camper in a year or so).. so big power gains are not an issue for me..I doubt I would even make any changes..But I would like to monitor the engine, pull codes if nessesary, and view instantly MPG.

1). Do all edge products give a MPG display option? and a miles to empty option? ( I have searched all afternoon and was only able to find 1 reference in regards to MPG on line) could somebody show me what this option looks like on the display?

2). What would be the cheapest edge product I could get with what I have listed.. I have looked at models from $220-510 range..$220 would be fine, but $510 would be to much for what I want it to do...

3.) Could someone give me some advice on what model to get for my needs?

Thanks for everyones help in advance..

Respectfully,

Elliot

your options,
http://www.edgeproducts.com/products...tegory_key=all

A1 monitor
A2 Monitor (includes GPS software and some other toys)
A1 style Evolution
Old style Evolution

A1 and A2 Monitors usually require a juice box and are in the $750-2000.

The A1 style Evolution is probably your beast. Jobber is 599 on it. Sence the inception of the MVP program, your not going to find much in the $220 range unless it's new or obsolete.

You may want to look into the MSD Dashhawk. It is in your price range, is the same form factor as the Edge monitors (MSD owns Edge now) and it is not a tuner, so you shouldn't have any warranty issues. I am currently working with a software engineer at MSD to help get different parameters up and running for them on the 6.0L powerstroke. If you are interested check out my thread here, which shows what parameters are currently working, or send me a PM for more info.

I don't see why it wouldn't, all it does is read the parameters off the PCM, it doesn't write or try to control anything.

Your absolutely right Beerstalker. It works just fine withan Xcal2 or any other tuner. We have tried a bunch, and everything seems fine. Until they get some of the perameters reading correctly it will sit on the shelf and wait. Its a very cool gauge. We like it alot.

If you dont already have an Xcal2 you may consider the New Live Wire from SCT also. Its a nice gauge, and tunes the truck. It can also hold custom tunes.

Just an idea.

The Dashhawk does not show EGTs at this time. They are coming out with an add on called the Hawkeye that will allow you to add 8 more sesnors for whatever you want though. I am supposed to be getting the parts in the next couple weeks to install the Hawkeye and EGT probe to do some beta testing for them. I will be sure to post in my Dashhawk thread when I get it up and running.

They are hoping to release the Hawkeye this summer.
