Need help - wierd 9" diff I got.....

I got these two axles today from my buddy's junkyard...Freebies....One is from a 1980 F100, 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern on the axles...The other is weird, he found it under his tire pile when he started trucking them away. It too has 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern. But it has huge drums - almost the size of the rims. It also has some weird coil spring mounts, upper and lower control arm mounts and the shocks are right out by the rims. I cut off the sway bar at the junkyard.....Not sure on the ratio - no tag left....Anyone got a clue what this might have come out of????...I don't think it's one of those wierd 9-1/2 axles or what ever the ugly duck 9" diff was...LOL

I am no expert on all of the vehicle applications, but I would guess that it came out of some 70's full size car like a Town Car or something.

velcro is close...that axle in the lower pics is out of a '70s midsize car...anything from '72 to '79. That axle has two upper links, where the fullsize car axle had one upper link and a panhard bar.

Just a little useless trivia...

i had an axle like that, and it come out of an old lincoln cont. it had those mounts and it had some kinda guard on the pinion.

The brake drums on this thing are close to 14", freakin huge. I'm gonna pull it apart this week for the pump and etc as the housing is rusty.

I had an axle like that, and it came out of a 71 LTD wagon with air leveling bags inside the rear springs.

Yeah, the concensus is that it's a car diff.....I'm in the process of tearing it apart right now....All I need is my IR 1/2" impact and a BFH....LOL....Pretty long time since this thing saw the road.
