I purchased my 2004 f350 cc one year ago with 165000km on it.i now have around 195000km on it.in the short time i have had it i've had to change the oil cooler and egr valve.i am now having cold start issues [surging ,loping, etc] i'm thinking faulty injectors.with summer coming we will be going on several long trips and was thinking about solving some of the more common issues with the truck, head studs ,head gaskets, egr delete etc.my question is this what would everyone recommend as far as parts, kits and such?also if i add a tuner, besides complete gauges are there any other mods i should do to truck to maintain reliability.[transmission upgrades etc]i'm not looking to break any landspeed records just keep the truck reliable.also since the truck is out of warranty i will be looking for someone to do some of the work for me studs, injectors, egr delete.i live in calgary alberta canada and if any one knows of a reliable shop with decent pricing please let me know.thanks in advance
Ok, the one word answer to your question is SEARCH.
To answer all of your questions would take many, many pages ....so....
if you use the search feature for this forum you will find hundreds, heck maybe thousands of threads which will answer all of your questions and then some.
read the Hot Shots Secret oil additive thread & decide for youreself it may be worth a try as youre circumstances are what it apparantly why it was manufactured hope this helps out.
If you want to do some mods to increase performance and relibility, the call and talk to Matt at LIPD ( www.lidiesel.com ) it is the top performance guru with the 6.0 and can tell you what will and will not need to be upgraded for reliability for your specific use.
As hotroddsl said look at the HSS thread and order a bottle.
And as mentioned before , do a search and read as many posts by Matt (PSD 60L Fx4) as you can.
