Just pulled off my old rusted headers too install my new hedman headers ( fenderwell exit) has anyone done this before and if so did you have to pull the motor mounts and lift the engine to get them to fit? seems like a pain in the ***! thanks
I actually have hedman headers on my fe, i have a 390, i didn't have to take my motor out nor my mounts off. I actually only had to take out my starter to get them in. There easier if you put them in thru the top and take off the master cylinder to get the right one in...that's just me though....what kinda motor do you have.
its a shame u cut that out, all u had to do was unmount the motor from the towers and leave the mounts on the motor...jack the motor up and put yer headers on.
I actually don't see how it would have gone through the inner fender if I had not cut a piece out. It actually looks good with just enough room to route the headers through. I did not do a hack job if thats what you thought it fits real good. I will try and post a pic if my wife's camera will work. Later man
i just put headers on my 79 w 302, I undid the motor mounts and levered the engine up on the pass side and removed the starter, the driver side was easy, just undid my clutch linkage and dropped it right down and in, pass side was the most trouble but I got em in, check my myspace 4 pix www.myspace.com/redneck_fireman or my FTW profile gallery, just look up TB 79 F100
