Anybody here ever have a steering gear go bad on your Bronco? I have a 79 that seems to be whipping up the power steering fluid while running and then it pukes out of the reservoir when you shut the engine off. I have tried 2 different used pumps but still have the problem. I am beginning to think there is something screwed up inside the steering gearbox. Are 79's prone to gearbox failures?
ANY help or experiences appreciated.
thanks, Rick
thanks for the suggestion!
I tried another one of the plastic body pumps (used) and it did the same thing, but I then "adapted" an old steel body pump from a 1974 Ford and it worked like a dream.
thanks again,
Rick
