Unless you live on one of the mountain tops, I would not bother with it.
You are south of me.
Mine has not worked for years.
I do stay on top of anti gell addative though since I plow snow and have to start in the wee hours in the winter in the worst weather.
alright, i was wondering if i needed it. our 05 F550 6.0 has one and it is supposidly constantly run.........and it also has a fuel cooler, go figure??? i think anyway
is this fuel heater the same thing as the fuel warmer plate in my '90 that's built into the fuel filter housing???? if it's the same thing or does the same thing can i just unplug it as long as i'm using proper fuel care?
speedrdr
Same end result, but the 86 and earlier trucks had it on the fuel line between the filter and the lift pump.
The one in the filter housing is a much better design.
But that is also the one I am not using.
I had to replace the original fuel line between the lift pump and the filter on my 86.
The heater trapped moisture against the line and it started leaking fuel years ago.
