Anybody have one of these cars? I found a cherry one with 58K miles. 400, C6 tranny, and it feels like it's geared pretty high in the rear. Everything works other than the a/c being a little low and a couple lights. This thing is huge and drives just like one of these old cars should. It's pretty neat seeing something this old almost the way it came from the factory (under the hood, wiring, etc. hasn't been removed or cobbled). All kinds of original Motorcraft parts. I think a good tune up and carb rebuild should have it running great. I've always wanted one and couldn't pass it up.
What's a car like this worth? I plan on driving it some, but it'll do a lot of sitting too.
You can try www.lincolnsonline.com and look at the forum for older Contis. Not too many posts, but you might find something. Don't forget to search the archives and the for sale forum there as well.
I had a 73 white Lincoln Continental Mark 4 when I was 20 and I loved that car!!!! I think it had a 460 or 490 in it and it was a runner.
It was my best and favorit car that I ever had.I wish I still had it.That was 26 years ago,,,lol.
Great find!!!! Hope it treats you well,,,good luck with her.
I paid $1200 for it. It's a four door, says "collector's series" on the side. I don't know too much about the older Lincolns; it seems like there were a bunch of different versions of the Continental though. I looked at some on ebay. Mine has the spare tire in the front of the trunk with a flat lid, opposed to some with it in back and a hump in the lid.
