intrument clusters

I have a 2001 F250 ext cab 4X4 with a 5.4L. I was wondering if i could switch the cluster out with a newer one with a digital odometer. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it would take a lot more work than that. It is my understanding the the new cluster is completely electronic, and you would have to have the computer out of the newer truck as well in order for the gauges to work. Someone else here might be able to let you know for sure though as I may be wrong.

They both are electronic, but the newer dashes use the CAN protocol. It would be cheaper to buy a new truck than to try to engineer the CAN system into to a non-CAN vehicle. You will need to replace most all modules, ABS, air bag, cluster, radio and a couple of others.

I think it's racepak that has a mini-cluster with digital speedo, I don't know it will work with our dwell sensor.
