Hey, I just found a 1961 or 1962 F100 unibody 2wd shortbox that might be for sale. What are the pro's/con's to something like this. I think it looks cool with the one piece design and it doesn't have that "wrong bed". It is a little rough here and there but there is no major cancer. The truck originally came with an inline, but the current owner now has a 292 with a granny four speed. What is something like this worth versues...say....a 1966 F100 2wd shortbox ( something I own as well)?

There's no way a Uni can have the wrong bed, as the bed is integral with the cab. Uni's are the forerunners of the chevrolet avalanche and the ugly Honda Ridgeline. Both of these have beds integral with the cab.

Uni production figures: 1961 = 62,410; 1962 = 68,083; 1963 = 40,535.

I think the "wrong bend" refers to the bodyline on the door. Value it for what it is...a 45 year old truck that has a different engine than it was born with. Now that you have perspective let the haggling begin. The formula I use is ....comparable price/personal desire x need to have it - cost to fix it.
