90 Bronco, EGR Question
Failed emmisions today, the NOX portion. Seems could be an egr valve or related problem. Here is what I did.
I could not get the stem to move on the valve as I ran the rpm's up. I thought it was the valve. However after several checks around the engine, I found a broken vacuum line, seems it was going to the purge canister.
Does it make sense this could have been the problem? Anyone know how to really test this stupd thing ( egr and related controllers) so I don;t have to go out and waste money??
Thanks for all of your help!!!!
There could be a few things wrong with it . First apply vacuum to it & see if it holds . It should have a vacuum line running from the Egr to its solenoid . Check that the solenoid's vacuum line is connected . If you run the KOER portion of the EEC IV self test you can visually watch to see if the egr opens . Its also possible the passage way in the intake is clogged with carbon .
