1959 223 6 cylinder value

I pulled the 223 and a 3 speed out of my 1959 F-100. The starter is off but other than that it is complete. I doubt it will run. About what is it worth.

I'm picking up a numbers matching all original 1956 F100 223 with four speed still connected to it for a hundred bucks this Friday. It might or might not run. It's complete minus the carburetor.

223's are worth alot to the people trying to locate them because they're kinda getting harder to come by. When you find a 223 for sale though... they're cheaper than a 300. In the condition you're describing and with yours being a 3 on the tree... you're looking at about a hundred bucks probably.

The problem is finding someone who wants it. The trucks those things came in are usually powered by a 350 Chevy (sadly) or some other swapped in Ford... typically a 302. The 223's are usually scrapped.

Best of luck and try posting it on craigslist.org you may get lucky.

How much do 300's go for? I hope to always have a 300 in my pickup.

lol you'd be surprised. Don't ever go to a junkyard if you want a cheap 300. I'd post a wanted ad in craigslist. You could probably get yourself a 300 runner for under 200 bucks.

BTW I got that 223 with 4 speed for 60 bucks.

Bill, priced a 4.9 EFI for my uncle last year, we wound up getting a rollover for $150, saved 200, and got extra tranny, reserve tank and spare tire (3).

Look around houses with 4x4s and a shop, they sometimes get a whole truck for the front end, tranny, t-case or somethin and are willing to part out the rest of the vehicle. just watch out for the POSTED or NO TRSEEPASSING signs
