Power steering pressure switch

i read something in someones thread that said trucks with a 302 in it used a power steering pressure switch. but trucks with a 302 and a E4OD trans did not use one. is this correct? if i have a 302/E4OD i dont need one?

My 92 F150 302/E4OD did not have it and has no provision for it. It seemed to work fine that way.

won't my check engine light come on without the switch?

Try it and see what happens. If it comes on, try to jump the terminals on the plug for the switch and see if it goes off.

I've never seen one on these trucks. There's a regulator in the pump, but that's it.

There may be a switch on the F450's that use hydroboost brakes, but I even doubt that.

Neither of my 95's has it.

I think it's on some of the older trucks. I have an 88 E-150 with a 302 that's now in my 79 F-150 and it had the switch.
