I know many of you have seen me on hear asking numerous questions throughout this engine swap, and yes I do have another one. The truck was a 1990 f250 351w originally, and i pulled the 351 and replaced it with a 302. My question is when the 351 was in the truck, there was what i think is called the vapor canister purge solenoid that went into the front of the throttle body and the other end into the vapor canister located in the front right corner of the engine compartment. on the 302 that i just put into the truck, there is no vacuum fitting on the front of the throttle body to plug the solenoid into. what do i do with this now?
I see the vacuum port on the TB for the vapor Valve...thank you Subford. I don't see an electrical plug on my harness for the vapor valve. Is it possible my harness dont have one, or am i just blind!

In 1988 the purge valve was non-electrical on the 5.0 & 4.9 but the 5.8 & 7.5 was.
so do i need to get a different purge valve, or a different wiring harness. my motor and harness is from a 1988 and the ecu i am using is from a 1991. am i going to have a problem with this too now?
i just realized you mentioned purge valve. arent we talking about the vapor canister purge solenoid?
With a 5.8 it would be a purge solenoid but with a 5.0 it is a purge valve, demand operated.
Yes you will have to replace the Canister Purge Regulator Valve (solenoid) Basic Part No. 9C915 with a Canister Purge Valve Basic Part No. 9B963.
do you have a pic of the canister purge valve that i need to get? maybe a pic of an engine with one already on it so i can see how to hook it up. sorry but im lost here.

why the hell aren't you my neighbor subford???.......lol.....well you almost are here in the magic world of computing..
So good to see you come through with the pics and diagrams.......Don't ever leave!!
I have been reading other posts similar to mine and it seems that some people just plug the vacuum line from the canister right into the TB with no valve. can i do this? i am getting really confused with this whole valve thing. i dont even know which one i would need. the engine and harness is a 302 from an 88, the ecu is from a 91. my 351 that just came out had an electronic solenoid but the 302 thats in it now doesnt even have a plug for it. i seen some pics of the purge valve (non-electrical) and it looks like it has more vacuum ports on it then i have vacuum lines. does this mean that i have to change other stuff too to make that type of valve work?
My information say that yes the 1991 ECU (PCM) uses a Can-Purge Sol.
Is the plug you are using on the PCM from the 351 or 302?
In other words where did you splice the 302 harness to the truck harness?
If you did this at the engine disconnect plug (I am guessing you have one as I do not know what year they started using it) then you would have a wire for the Can-Purge Sol. at that point.
