8.8 Spider Gears

Well i just bought a Ford Racing 8.8 Traction-Lok differential....used..and it has some miles on it...the springs and clutch packs look good...but the gears are worn fairly good...i have a 97 that i want to put it on...it just has a regular diff..no limited slip/posi...and i was wondering...the spider gears should be the same right?...becuase my rear end was just done so i got practically new spider gears and was wondering if they will fit into this new rear end....if anyone knows and could let me know ASAP...that would be great....i would like to get it in tonight!

No, the spider gears are different. The spiders on the open diff are smooth on the back so they turn freely. The spiders for the LS are splined where the clutches go.
