My F350, because of me …both batteries died, lots going on in life and stupid on my part…issue is bought new (875 CCA) battery ....charged second one, still red in sight gauge though.
When I try to start nothing….will not even attempt to turn the motor over or engage the starter, dash shows bright and all. I can’t say it acts like not enough charge because if that happened I would think it would at least click the starter solenoid….however maybe these things need so much hit with the bats there is not enough power to engage the starter, would think so with one new bat and one …well….so help me guys.
sound like somthing else. can you reset the alarms sys. did you test the Bat Voltage with a meter should be around 12v .does the Glow plug light work. A firend of mine just had is starter go bad turn the key and all go 's dead. well that's my .02

Sorry to hear about the problem. I read a couple of weeks ago (one of the posts on this forum) that when you replace one bat you need to replace both. That being said, I've not had this problem...yet.
Common sense says that if you put in a new bat and the 2nd one is charged and healthy it should atleast hit the starter. The posts seemed to say that the second bat could not produce at the same level as the new bat so you get a no power situation. You'll get lights, horn, interior lights etc...there's just not enough to make the starter system operate.
Sooooo, I recommend you go back a couple of weeks and see if you can find the threads to make sure I didn't mis-read anything.
Did not test the bat, (still red in the indicator window, but battery charger show charged, did it with three different charges, thought it weird to say charged but window shows read) I did reset the alarm.....glow plug and fuel pumps are all running strong and loud. However the new bat should have enough power to click the solenoid, I would think
Check your grounds. Often a bad ground path will be far less obvious than a bad current/hot path. And strong/willing/bright accessories (including headlights) and death on crank is the classic bad-ground symptom.
Additionally, a bad battery can act as a current sink when hit with a load...
There's no reason why the truck shouldn't at least turn over with only one battery. It might not start, but it should at least run through a full crank rev.

Should be reading around 12.5 volts across both batteries. Sounds like the old battery is dragging the new one down. What is the voltage when you actually try to crank he motor. Should stay above 12 volts. I have a hunch that you are sucking the system down too low with the old battery. JMO.
With the charger showing full charged on old bat, as soon as you try to crank it, the charger then shows bat dead and takes about an half/hour to bring it back up to SHOWING full charge.....no load charge should be at 12.5….by now!!!! right?

I think you have a shorted battery. Trying to start should not give you a bad battery reading like that. Replace it. You are running in circles trying to trouble shooting the system with a known bad battery.
I agree with other folks. Sounds like a shorted bat. We test using a clamp on current meter and watch it during cranking, or slap on a voltage meter on BOTH batts and watch them when you crank it. I also had a bad ground on my 64 F100 and the only way I saw this was at night with hood up and tried to start and caught a slight spark at the batt. BUT I still agree with the shorted batt causing your problem.
You've got a shorted/bad battery Tim. Went through that with my 94 Bronco. It's not the miles on your Super Duty but the age of the battery that's causing you grief. You may also have a bad battery charger. Also, check the cable connections at the starter.
Replace them both and you'll be a happy PSD owner once again!
