"New" Bronco owner questions

Hello everyone.
I just became the proud owner of a 1986 Full size Bronco (Eddie Bauer). This is my first Ford, and my first truck, so I have a few questions if you all don't mind. First of all can someone tell me of an online source for decoding the VIN. Just would like to know more about the truck. I'm also wondering about the transmition, is it a C4, C5, or a C6. I believe it has the 5.8L engine. At least that's what the air cleaner says. It does need a little work but all in all it is in good condition and can't wait to get it on the trails.
Thanks in advance for your help.

My best bet is that you have a C-6. If you look through the archives you will find that there is an identification guide based on the shape of your tranmission oil pan. Your first Ford Bronco, well let the fun begin.
