well my 305's were very bald and i was trying to wait until i get my lift here in the next couple months to get tires..long story short, i found some 285 BFG A/T's with decent tread behind a local tire shop they were discarding and were willing to give to me .. there was nothing wrong with them so i took them and had them mounted tonight
now, i didnt have them balanced as the tire shop was closing soon and these are just temporary..no alignment either
my question is that it pulls hard right now and im thinking that its alignment but i don't know for sure? can not having the tires balanced cause this? i didnt think a 305/70R16 to a 285/75R16 could knock the alignment out as much as im seeing
Not totally positive, but I don't think unbalanced tires will cause a hard pull. To my knowledge it will only affect high speed driving and will cause a wheel shimmy. My guess would be an alignment issue.

If it did'nt pull before you put the tires on and it pulls now it's the tires. It is called a "Radial Pull". Sometimes the belt can start to separate and cause this problem. Rotate both tires front to rear. If the pull goes away, it is definitely
a bad tire. Probably why the previous owner removed them. BFG may warranty them, even if you were not the orginial owner. Worth a shot.

If the tires were on a vehicle that had alignment issues, the tires would have worn prematurely (even if it isn't noticeable with the naked eye). Once you put them on your vehicle, they will continue to pull with the improper groove worn by the other vehicle, even if your alignment is good. Try rotating the front tires to the back. Maybe you can get two good ones on the front.

If this is the case, keeping the tires on the rear of the truck for 5000 miles or so should remove the grooves and fix the problem.
